In Russintår, I turn to photography to attend to my relationship with my brother. Working with a large-format camera, I use its slow, deliberate process as a way to build trust and intimacy. Setting up each picture takes time, and in that waiting the camera becomes a mediator, one that can both reshape and sustain the bond between us.
Having grown up both on a Greek island and in a small village beside a lake in Dalarna, we both find solace in bodies of water. The photographs were taken in our village and on the islands of the Gothenburg archipelago, where I currently reside.
