After a childhood move from Greece to Sweden, Clio Pavlidis Andersson felt disoriented and adrift. The State That the Sea Left Me In is a mirroring of Pavlidis' search for belonging. Through photography, she has captured fragments of life - moments, places and faces - that evoke feelings of belonging and kinship. The work is about longing for a home that does not yet exist, about fumbling for affection and about the desire to build a sense of safety strong enough to carry one out of a harbourless state.
